DLLMODs no longer load
« on: December 20, 2016, 05:58:33 PM »
I am receiving reports from users of the Complete Control DLLMOD that it is no longer loading, nor is it available for use.

Testing has shown the mods load the first time, but after the setting.txt file get created for the mod, it will no longer load. This has been test and confirmed on the latest version of the game, as well my newest mod in development has the same issue. Users report they have the installation correct, and it worked once, but not more than that.

I posted this issue specific to .Net Modding, but received no comment. I am reporting this as a bug now as I have multiple users confirmed with the same issue.

I can't reproduce this issue. Sounds like an anti-virus problem.

Could you launch the game with the mod working, close the game again, then launch it again, making sure the settings file has been created and the mod is no longer loading, and then copy the contents of the "output_log.txt" file from the "Software Inc_Data" folder? It should have information on what is making the mod failing to load.

My apologies for the delay in responding, I have only now found time to dedicate to this issue.

At this point I am unable to load new mods. The process seems to be completely bypassed. I do see my mod load in the file, but it doesn't seem to run this check often.
I have upload the www.nexwerx.com/softinc/output_log.txt I would like to note the file time on this is 8/31/2016, but have played much since that time. Also I would like to note I upgraded to the RX470 8GB video card in the past month, which isn't reflected in the file, note I did have this issue with the NVidia card as well (so not related :) )

I have confirmed with workshop users to try to determine what is happening. However, the users that report installing the mod are using either the tool I provided, or manually installing, but the mod does not pop up in the Mod list via the options menu.

Also, while attempting to create a couple new mods, I ended up stripping the the code down, piece by piece, and at no point did the application register the new addition. Here is the most stripped down version, which in the way the code is executed, should create an entry in the mod list, but it does not. You can dl the full stripped down version of the code (VS12) at www.nexwerx.com/softinc/SITestMod.zip

Code: [Select]
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Text;
using System.Threading.Tasks;
using UnityEngine;

namespace SITestMod
{
    public class SITestMod : ModMeta
    {

        public void ConstructOptionsScreen(RectTransform parent, ModBehaviour[] behaviours)
        {
            // Do nothing, just test the loading of the mod
        }

        public string Name
        {

            get { return "SITestMod"; }

        }

    }
}

Update: I completely uninstalled, and reinstalled in order to revert and force a resource read. I made sure to incorporate my new mods into the application prior to running it, at which time it did register them and they are working as expected. There is no indication as to why the version I ran was not updating, and I am monitoring the issue with any new mods I attempt to incorporate in order to diagnose and trace the issue.
