General Discussion / Re: Software Inc mod site
« on: February 19, 2017, 01:40:58 AM »
I believe more people is using steam community/workshop more than the forum now. It were much more active before the release of steam workshop. It is much easier to use when you have to game on steam. I believe that's why you don't see that much activity on this forum.

That's also why I think a site like this could work. It's supposed to make it easy for people to upload and share mods, a site to gather all the mods in a bigger collection and gather people together.

I was too optimistic about this project, as I currently don't have too much time on my hand atm.
The project would have to be started over if I start it again and if I do it will not be at the moment sadly.

I do have a lot of ideas for this, but working on it alone was too optimistic and I had to put it on hold :)

I do have a trello with ideas I have/had for the site.

Don't use the test mod. It's a year old and outdated. Instead take your time and read the Modding Wiki

Modding / Re: Software dependency
« on: September 21, 2016, 02:12:51 PM »
It should be

Code: [Select]
<Dependency Software="Browser">Computer</Dependency>
You put that on a feature which it "depend" on

Quoted from the Modding wiki
Quote
What features this feature depends on to be available, this can be features in the current product, features in other products or features in supported operating system. Note that operating system feature dependencies are taken as an intersection, so if a features relies on 3D in an operating system, ALL chosen operating systems must support 3D. A dependency should be defined as <Dependency Software="Operating System">3D</Dependency>. You can have multiple of these tags per feature

But the above one affects the "pie"

If you are trying to make so the feature only goes under a specific category, you need to user SoftwareCategory tag

Ex.
Code: [Select]
<SoftwareCategory Category="Name of category">1983</SoftwareCategory>

I am pretty sure you cannot take the category from another software as it's not how it works

I agree, I don't think it has to be that detailed. It's software Inc and shouldn't start focusing on something like this.

The way Khornel seem to plan it already seems good for me atleast.

The game does support windows 10.

I guess you was confused by the requirements.

It says "minimum" OS: Windows 7 meaning you need atleast windows 7 or newer to be running the game.
