Suggestions and ideas / Open Source Software

When you release a open source software, people can create different versions and you will get a cut of the revenue. Or it increases the popularity a bit more.

Gingy's Challenge! [Software Inc v5.3]

My youtube playthrough of this challenge!
I totally forgot about contract work, I'll update the thing to disallow contract work.
Good video by the way, kept me entertained.

Hey Gingy, just a heads up, in 0.3 your web browser requires a webmail service, but your webmail service requires an web browser, meaning you can't make either one.

See here
Yeah I noticed that as I was writing all the features. It will be fixed in the next update. ;)

Not sure if I did something wrong but I managed to make it to 95 on my own

Good work :), I guess I'll need to think of something more challenging in the future.

Creative. Fun idea to add even more replayability.
Registered to say, I'm going to try this, sounds fun
Good idea! I'm going to take part.
Glad to see people are taking a interest.
It would be great if you could share pics of you attempting it :)

Could you possibly list the features of your mod? It's helpful in seeing what is in your mod, and if it will conflict with others :)
Done :)

Suggestions and ideas / Research Tree
« on: July 28, 2015, 05:48:17 PM »
Since the tree is the game's icon. Maybe there could be a research feature involving the tree. Where branches grow out the deeper you go.

What do you think?

Another Idea:
Maybe you could update the software to add more operating systems and updating could maybe be more like marketing where you put a team on that game to keep it alive for years, instead of it just withering away.

If you are gonna have your mod become a open project, will you be putting it on github?

This is the only mod, I'm running Mo' stuff and mod sauce without any issues.
I'm not to sure then, if someone else knows what's wrong with the mod that would be helpful. But in the meantime I will try and find out what it is and I'll get back to you.

Modding / Re: Company not being released .. ? help :)
« on: July 28, 2015, 04:41:30 PM »
Is that a typo on the forum or is this in your code?

And the company is getting released after the game does by the way.

Does the mod work now?
Unfortunately, I'm still getting the same error as before.
Is it only this mod that's not working for you or are you getting the same with other mods?
